Gonzaga College High School is a Jesuit, Roman Catholic school and a part of the Archdiocese of Washington. In 1821, the Society of Jesus (commonly referred to as the Jesuits) founded Gonzaga. It is a part of the system of Jesuit High Schools in this country and around the world. The school's all-male student body currently numbers 960 students, and Gonzaga seeks to challenge each student while encouraging spiritual growth. In addition to our strong academic program, other important aspects of life at Gonzaga College High School are our community service outreach programs and co-curricular activities, including our sports teams and club organizations. Altogether, these aspects educate a well-rounded student, a young man who is: intellectually competent, open to growth, religious, loving, and committed to doing justice in generous service to the people of God. Simply put, we educate our students to be Men for Others.

    Gonzaga College High School is a Catholic college preparatory school for boys operated by the Society of Jesus and its colleagues under the governance of an independent Board of Trustees. Drawing its inspiration from the spiritual vision of St. Ignatius Loyola and the apostolic and educational tradition of the Jesuits, it offers a values-oriented and academically challenging curriculum to young men of diverse backgrounds from all over the Washington metropolitan area.
    Gonzaga views its urban setting in the heart of the nation's capital as a significant advantage in fulfilling its goals, allowing its students to interact with the larger Washington community and to learn leadership skills and civic responsibility as part of their overall development. Moreover, Gonzaga strives to create a dynamic and caring learning environment which it unites with its academic, extra-curricular and athletic programs to help form Men with and for Others, that is, graduates who are:

    open to growth;
    intellectually competent;
    loving, and
    committed to doing justice.

    Everything a young man can ask for in a pre-college atmosphere. My good friends in high school are now my great friends as we bond over how lucky were are to call ourselves “Men for Others”.
