Trinity School at Meadow View is a classically based Christian school offering a rigorous humanities curriculum, advanced STEM classes and performance based arts. All students follow one, balanced curriculum that enables them to develop the intellectual habits they need for a lifetime of discovering truth, practicing goodness and creating beauty. Our community of learners is coed, but our classes are single sex, with no more than 20 students per classroom. This maximizes the ability of the individual student to learn well and to develop good friendships. Ours is also an ecumenical Christian culture marked by daily prayer and a moral order deeply rooted in Scripture and Christian tradition. The New Adventures Learning Community thoughtfully blends the best features of multiple educational traditions to create a student-centered academic approach providing both flexibility and accountability.
▪ Each student creates a personalized curriculum with family input and professional guidance. The student’s curriculum draws from his or her unique interests, passions and goals, and is implemented with the type of one-on-one educational coaching Homeschoolers enjoy.
▪ Students help plan their own daily and weekly schedules, taking charge of their education with professional on-site assistance. Like Montessori students, they learn at their own pace, progressing farther and faster in areas of strength, and taking more time to work through more challenging subject matter.
▪ Children are free to move, eat, and drink when they need to.
▪ There is no unnecessary stress, standardized testing, or required homework, though students may work on projects at home if they choose to.
▪ Students have daily opportunities to collaborate, teach, and learn from each other, and to socialize with peers and develop long-term friendships.
We have created a schedule that enables the students to choose their topics – for short term or long term projects. With a varied range of modalities, they learn the skills necessary for high school completion.
Fusion Academy Tysons
Fusion Academy is a revolutionary private middle and high school where positive relationships unlock academic potential. We are a non-traditional community of learning with the smallest class size possible: one student and one teacher per classroom. This allows us to personalize curriculum for each student’s unique strengths, interests, and learning style. We are also able to customize scheduling; students may enroll at any time (even during the summer) and take classes at a time of day that works best for them.
Our supportive staff and campus environment provide a safe space for students to flourish emotionally, socially, and academically. It includes a state-of-the-art recording studio and a mixed-media art studio for students to express their creativity. Our Homework Café® is where students complete all their homework before they leave for the day with help and supervision from a teacher.
Classes are offered at three levels: essential, college prep, and honors. From algebra to yoga and everything in between, we have a wide variety of classes to choose from. Students can enroll full-time, take classes for credit, or utilize our tutoring services. In addition to academics, we partner with outside therapeutic professionals to support students’ emotional health and help foster a balanced life.
While it’s impossible to put our students into categories, we generally serve students with the following backgrounds: ADHD, accelerated/gifted learners, dyslexia, mild learning differences, social challenges, school anxiety, or students with challenging schedules. Students who attend Fusion have one thing in common: traditional school isn’t working.
De Colores Learning Center
Within the holistic framework, the Spanish Immersion Pre-K program at De Colores Learning Center uses The Creative Curriculum, a forward-thinking, comprehensive, and rigorously researched curriculum approach that honors creativity and respects the role that teachers play in making learning exciting and relevant for every child. The Spanish Immersion Pre-K program at De Colores Learning Center used the Spanish language version of The Creative Curriculum, which supports Spanish language and literacy development. The system focuses on the following areas of development and learning:
Social–Emotional, Physical, Language, Cognitive, Literacy, Mathematics, Science and Technology, Social Studies, and Artistic Expression.
The daily routine at the De Colores Toddler program is complemented by a full range of extracurricular experiences including: yoga, music, garden/nature studies, cooking, art, and visits to the Takoma Park Public Library.
De Colores Spanish Immersion Program
The Spanish Immersion Toddler Program at De Colores Learning Center is designed to allow children to grow at their own rate in a Spanish immersion setting. Because this is such a unique age, development and a child’s progression is largely up to the child him/her self.
The teachers in the De Colores Toddler Program provide the opportunity for your child to explore the world in a safe, loving and nurturing environment with careful attention paid to the development of verbal,fine motor, large motor, and social/emotional skills. De Colores has designed a Spanish immersion classroom setting that allows children to explore the wonderful things that the world has to offer and to develop a solid foundation for continued development.

Each student at Echelon Academy has a student Blueprint that specifies key learning goals and levels of achievement. Plans are designed by our director, teachers, and parents. Learning plans are reviewed and modified as necessary. Regularly, the school faculty meets to discuss and actively manage individual student progress.
Echelon Academy employs the very best research-based curriculum and instructional methodologies. Our curriculum content is carefully aligned to the learning standards outlined in the Maryland Common Core State Curriculum. Where necessary, appropriate modifications and adaptations are made to ensure all students can access academic material at personally challenging levels.

Esh’e lan – a squadron V formation which allows geese to conserve energy by using the uplift of air from the goose in front of it. By flying in a V formation the whole flock adds at least 71% greater flying range than if each bird flew on its own. This formation allows each bird to have an unobstructed field of vision, allowing flock members to see each other and communicate while in flight. The geese take turns leading; there isn’t one designated leader. As one bird tires, it drops to the back of the formation and another takes its place.

German International School Washington D.C.
The German International School Washington D.C. is a private, co-educational institution with more than 500 students in preschool through 12th grade, set on a quiet campus in Potomac, Md. Representing more than 20 different nationalities, our student body is truly international, united by a shared interest in German language and culture. The only full-time German day school in Washington, we offer rigorous academics in a warm, multicultural setting.
